Tyler Phelps, DMD
Dentist and Owner
Dr. Phelps grew up in Gilbert and then moved to Queen Creek. He has lived in Arizona most of his life. Arizona is home to him.
Dr. Phelps attended Arizona State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. He attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree.
Dr. Phelps is passionate about meeting the individual needs of his patients. The most fulfilling part of dentistry for Dr. Phelps is when an anxious patient, who usually avoids visiting the dental office, expresses how comfortable and at ease they feel while working with him. Dr. Phelps' desire to pursue dentistry was derived from his instinctive inclination to help people. Caring for his patients by attending to their dental health brings immense joy to him.
Dr. Phelps and his wife have three children, as well as a golden retriever and a labradoodle puppy. The kids and puppies keep them busy, but they wouldn’t have it any other way! On the occasion he finds himself with free time, he enjoys weight lifting, reading Harry Potter, and sitting by a campfire. It's also not hard for his kids to rope him into a round of Super Smash Bros!
Claudia
Office Manager
Claudia joined the Merrill Ranch Family practice in 2022 as the Office Manager with 20 years of experience in dental . Claudia enjoys interacting and building relationships with patients. Her priority is to ensure that all of our patients have a wonderful experience. She moved from California to the East Valley in 2004 with her family. She enjoys spontaneous trips with her family making endless memories.
Jessica
Patient Coordinator
Jessica has been with our practice since early 2022. She will often be the first smile you see when you walk in the front door! Jessica comes with years of customer service experience, including an education in Hospitality Management. She understands how little things can make a big difference in a patient’s experience in the office and will do her best to make sure you feel welcome, comfortable, and informed from your first phone call. She loves being a part of Merrill Ranch Family Dental and the amazing team we have. Jessica was born and raised in Vermont and is still not quite sure how she ended up in the middle of the desert. She lives in the area with her husband, two children, and tiny dog Luna. When she’s not in the office you can find her cheering on the sidelines of her kids’ soccer games and performances, knitting in front of her current Netlix binge, or curling up with a good book.
Amie, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Amie is a registered dental hygienist who has been licensed to provide thorough treatment since 2017. She prides herself on her bedside manner and the importance of establishing relationships with her patients in a friendly and encouraging environment. She is eager to answer any questions patients may have to help them gain knowledge and confidence in their oral health. She is an AZ native and has lived in the Florence area since 2006. She is married with two children and they love to spend time together outdoors. Amie enjoys working at Merrill Ranch Family Dental because of the family oriented atmosphere and being surrounded by those who have their patients’ best interest at heart. Fun fact: Amie used to be a full time cake decorator.
Marcey, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Marcey is a seasoned dental hygienist with an illustrious career spanning over two decades. Renowned for her gentle touch and compassionate demeanor, she has become a trusted figure in the field of dental care. Marcey's dedication to patient comfort and satisfaction is evident in every interaction, as she approaches her work with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those she serves.
With a wealth of experience accumulated over the years, Marcey has honed her skills working in various dental offices across the USA. Her versatility and adaptability have allowed her to thrive in diverse environments, while her commitment to excellence remains unwavering. Patients consistently praise Marcey for her personable nature and the genuine care she demonstrates towards their well-being.
Beyond her professional achievements, Marcey is deeply passionate about promoting oral health awareness and education within her community. She believes in empowering individuals to take control of their dental hygiene through proactive measures and personalized care.
In her leisure time, Marcey enjoys exploring hiking trails, international travel, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quality time with her loved ones. Her zest for life and unwavering dedication to her craft serve as an inspiration to colleagues and patients alike.
Kim
Dental Assistant
Kim has been in the dental field for nine years. She graduated from Arizona Sunset School of Dental Assisting in Tucson. She’s a Florence native and loves working in her hometown. She has a strong desire to help others and uses her personal skills to make patients feel at ease. Kim has an appreciation for music, art, and nature. She takes delight spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking, and creating memories with loved ones.
Keney
Dental Assistant
Keney has been a dental assistant since 2017, she graduated from Pima Medical in Tucson. She is very dedicated to the dental health care profession and making sure all of her patients feel comfortable and leave her chair loving their smile. She loves spending time with her husband and daughter.
Jeni Phelps
Owner
Jeni started her career in the medical field, as a Respiratory Therapist. She has always adored patient care and helping individuals. She and Dr. Phelps made the choice for her to step aside from her career as they moved to California while Dr. Phelps attended Dental School. Her dream career has always been motherhood and she was thrilled to have the opportunity to stay home with her little ones. She loved those years of attending to their very young children and growing family. Upon purchasing Merrill Ranch Family Dental she found her new passion in business. Together, she and Dr. Phelps have enjoyed building Merrill Ranch Family Dental into what it is today. Dr. Phelps often jokes that he works for her as she keeps things running smoothly so he can focus on his patients and dentistry. If you ask the office staff what her position is they affectionately call her the Chaos Coordinator as she ensures that all the ducks are in a row for the practice.
When she is not working, she is sure to be enjoying time with her three adorable children or contributing to her community in one way or another.
Dr. Rider
Dr. Rider is an additional doctor that travels to our office for specialty procedures.
